Hyanda Salka, a talented sword-maiden of Varisian decent, found herself with child after a regrettable tryst with an adventuring Aldori swordsman. Unknown to the estranged father, she decided to instruct her son with a style all her own. At the right age, Hyanda abruptly banished the promising student to Restov with nothing but a conspicuous ring and sword – the meaning of which was not explained.
Now Megil fends for himself. He has recently fallen in with a shady lot who, at the very least, put his considerable physical prowess to use. Megil has externalized his struggles with abandonment by testing his own dervish swordsmanship against that of the local Aldori Swordlords.
